Bronwen Rankin, Ph.D. 
Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Rankin earned her B.A. in Psychology at Rice University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University. Before beginning clinical work, Dr. Rankin conducted cognitive and developmental psychology research. She interned at Virginia Treatment Center for Children, Medical College of Virginia, treating children and adolescents in day, residential, and acute settings.


Dr. Rankin has worked with a variety of adult and child clients at community mental health agencies, inpatient settings, and in private practice. She has supervised doctoral level students and interns in a university clinic and a psychiatric hospital. Dr. Rankin has extensive past experience with psychological and psycho-educational evaluations, and testing in schools, which informs her current psychotherapy work with children, adolescents and adults.  She was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in 2004 and conducted group and individual therapy in a DBT program for four years.  Dr. Rankin had training in Dr. David Burn’s TEAM CBT therapy.  Dr. Rankin was intensively retrained in DBT in 2019 to receive expert consultation and become updated on recent research and the 2nd Edition Skills Training.  She subsequently participated in intensive training in DBT-Child through Behavioral Tech with Francheska Perepletchikova and DBT-PE intensive training with Melanie Harned involving Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. Dr. Rankin is a Certified DBT Clinician, through the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification™.
