Carlos Portillo, MSW
Social Work Supervisee
Carlos Portillo is a Master Level LCSW Supervisee in Social Work. He earned his BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Social Sciences and his Masters in Social Work from Salisbury University. He has previously lived overseas which has allowed him to gain cultural experience. He has worked with various clinics that include long-term care facilities, E.R. suicidal response teams, Psychiatric In-patient Clinics, The Deployed Warriors Program, and Child and Family Behavioral Health Services within the community and the military population. He has provided mental health services to geriatric, adult, child, and adolescent clients. He has experience working with clients struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, family counseling, parenting, and PTSD. He has volunteered with Hurricane Relief efforts while in college in Louisiana as well as with unaccompanied minors during Operation Allies Welcome in Ramstein, Germany. Mr. Portillo has level 3 foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through Behavioral Tech. He has experience co-leading DBT groups and conducting DBT with children, adolescents and adults. He has knowledge and experience working with LGBTQ+ youths and adults.
